Distance, drive time, and route

Uvero Alto sits along the Dominican Republic's northeast coast, north of Bávaro and the Punta Cana resort corridor. The route follows the Boulevard Turístico del Este (RD-104) north from the airport, passing through Bávaro before continuing along the coastal highway toward Macao Beach and beyond.

• Distance: Approximately 35 to 45 km (22 to 28 miles) depending on your resort
• Drive time: 30 to 40 minutes with a private chauffeur
• Route: PUJ exit → Boulevard Turístico del Este north → Bávaro bypass → Uvero Alto coastal road
• Road quality: Divided highway for most of the route, well-lit, generally light traffic outside peak check-in windows

If you are staying at the far north end of Uvero Alto — Breathless, Zoëtry, or the newer Macao Beach properties — add 5 to 10 minutes to the drive time versus Hard Rock or Nickelodeon, which sit closer to Bávaro.

You have three real options after clearing customs at PUJ. For a 35-minute drive after an international flight, the difference between them is significant.

Private chauffeur (recommended)

A dedicated vehicle for your party only, direct from arrivals to your resort with no stops. The chauffeur meets you inside the terminal holding a sign with your name, handles all luggage, and briefs you on your ride. Cost: from USD $110 one-way for an executive sedan. Shared shuttle

A van that drops multiple parties at different resorts on a fixed route. You wait for the vehicle to fill (10 to 30 minutes at the airport), then make 3 to 7 stops before reaching Uvero Alto — because Uvero Alto is the farthest resort zone from PUJ, you are usually dropped last. Cost: USD $20 to $35 per person. Total time from landing to your room: often 2 to 3 hours. Rarely worth it for this corridor.

Airport taxi

The taxi rank outside PUJ arrivals uses a fixed-zone rate system. Cost to Uvero Alto: USD $60 to $80 depending on operator and vehicle class. No meet-and-greet, no flight tracking, no English-speaking guarantee. Vehicles vary significantly in age and condition. Payment is cash on arrival.
